That is a Ponton wagon. It's a Mercedes Chassis and was edited but a company called Binz, which is a Coach Builder. They are truely rare beasts, especially in the US. Binz made a truck on the same chassis.
Here are the Ponton Variants.

What a Mercedes ambulance, hearse, or limo. Check out Binz Coachbuilders - http://www.binzuk.com/index.htm

Yeah, that's it. Apparently it has more rust than I remembered. I love it when the sellers of old MBs take photos of the cars where they sit, and the pics show a nice view of the leaks.

Dude, if you think that is cool, I think the Florida heat is getting to you.

A Chebby Impala? What's cool about it?

I like your crosshairs hood star. If some punk SOB ever breaks mine off, I'd do something like that

Binz made a bunch of unusuyal Benzes. I almost bought a Binz wagon and shipped it from Alaska but got beat by someone else.
Oh well.

Cause it gets 10 to the gallon, holds nine people, and is seventies brown! whats not to like? I love station wagons, i figured if i was going to buy one, it needed to be one of the larger ones ever built. With the seats down it can hold sheets of plywood.

Thanks, i built the crosshairs because my car didn't come with a hoodstar. I was inspired to do so by a Simpson's episode where mister Burns has one on his car, when he runs over Bart
