...About Euro style bumpers for the W123. I went and got the money together and got the word out there that I was buying and when the offers came in, I quickly realized I had not done enough research to make an informed decision about a purchase. I got ahead of myself because I like the look but soon figured out I don't know enough about the function. So, can you guys help with my questions?
First of all, I'm looking for sedan bumpers. The coupe bumpers are different, correct? They come in two pieces, for the front and the rear (four total pieces)? The wagon is different because of the reverse lights and I think that's the only difference. Which style has the rubber cover side skirt things? Front and back? If I find a set without the rubber side sleeve things, how hard is it to find a good set/pair? Is it worth it to get a great set of bumpers that are missing the rubber and find them elsewhere or is that impossible and I should wait for a complete set? Are any parts or peices from the US version compatible with the Euro version? How easy is it to mount a US license plate to the front? I found a couple threads discussing this but no one found any brackets made to do this. Right now I could buy a great set of sedan euro bumpers with all mounting hardware but is missing the rubber side sleeve things. Should I go for it and hope to run into a set (pair?) of the rubber things? What are those things called??? Thanks!

You can get 1 or 3 piece bumpers and they were found on sedans and coupes. 1 piece bumpers haver rubber ends. I *think* the 3 piece will use/cover the existing hole.

I like the looks of the euro bumpers and have them on my cars but they are not as stout as the US ones. The parts are not interchangeable.

Can I get a little more help with my questions? I know a ton of you have or know about or love the euro style bumpers. I need more info! I've searched all over this site and found mostly people just talking about them in conversation, not really describing their installation or specs. Thanks again.

I might have the rubber Euro side trim pieces. I will try and look for them in the next couple of days. I don't really have any info to offer on the mounting differences. Hopefully somebody else will chime in.
