non turbo to turbo
I have a 1981 300D {W123} non turbo...what are the chances of making it a turbo w/later turbo manifolds{1982- 1985} Thanx

not a good idea. the turbo motor got an upgraded oil pump, and drive, hardened valve seats, sodium filled valves, and oil squirters on the pistons for cooling, and a hardened crank...
very bad for the motor to just turbo it. you'd also need to get a turbo IP and plumb in the ALDA for boost control of fuel... best to get an actual turbo motor and swap it in if you want more performance, but then you should swap the tranny and the diferential and the speedometer... just get a turbo car, it's easier......

if its just a rally car...
experiment, and intercool it.. then drop in a turbo engine if that one fails.. if its a rally car |
