Gasser w123 in Atlanta
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/cto/1059349142.html
I'm actually surprised to see one of these in the States. Is the seller speaking the truth? Were these gassers imported in 1979? Can someone shed some light on this?

They sold them in the States through '81 I believe. One of my old neighbors had one with a stick.

there are plenty of those around, one of my parts cars is a 78' 280E
i wouldn't call it rare, maybe uncommon someone put US spec bumpers and lights on it as well, or it could have been sold in the US new |

ive seen quite a few gasser w123 in the PNP's thats where I got my euro bumpers and one of my 4 speeds. I was so excited when I saw the first euro thinking of a 300D flywheel or even better a 5speed, but all the euros Ive seen have been gassers

Thanks
Thanks for the education. I had no idea.
Good idea to seek out 280SE parts. Some new interior components would be nice... and of course, Euro bumpers, if I can find them...

Yep. Whoever buys that car should buy my pristine driver side seat. Just needs the arm rests swapped.
... Think the buyer will pay for 2,700 miles of shipping? ![]() I actually pulled my Euro lights off of a grey market '79 280SE. It's kind of weird seeing something besides a diesel in them. So familiar with the hood up, but not.

The 280e's were sold in the US until 1981; all the 280e's after that were imported.

Now, if somebody had a gasser 250, that would more rare (and I'd love the intake off a parts one). -CTH

They are somewhat rare, I don't know if 700 total rare or not.
