Thumbs up I'm with "bobo"...

I 'm checking the issues on this forum against my 300SD all the time!
That's allowed me to fix things I didn't even know were broken to begin with...

if it wasn't for 79Mercy pointing it out, I probably wouldn't have even noticed they had a logo...not that she's all that.

....when you move the VW with the busted window regulator outside in order to have your own freshly cleaned SDL in the garage over night simply to keep the local cat from jumping on top of it with his dirty paws....

I tried cleaning off some of the accumulated brake dust on my wheels when I realized that the scrub brush was foaming up with ice slush. I then rinsed the wheel with hot water causing the wheel surface to form a sheet of ice like a ripple in a pond!

I may be imagining this, but it seems to me that hot water might actually freeze faster than cold. It might be something to do with the molecules being farther apart, the hotter the water is. I didn't do well in chemistry, though, so correct me if I am wrong.

I've heard that, but being from the south I have not verified it.

very cool article don!
nothing is mentioned in the article about phase change heat requirements, or the speed and flow of phase change heat gain/loss. interesting. and the mention in the article about the actual temp of the freezing water in the cold/hot containers is also interesting, it's well known that motionless and impurity free water can be cooled FAR below the freezing point without changing state to ice, so it's conceivable that the hot water, due to Brownian motion has currents in place that continue as rapidly freezing causing the phase change at a rapider pace than the initially cold water would without the currents, but this would not explain why the hot water on his wheels freeze faster than the cold water on his hood...

surface tension would be my guess. The hood hopefully has some wax on it.

I forgot about MB parts scattered around the house. Five speedometers on my computer desk in the kitchen in different stages of dissassembly,

Door panels leaning against the wall behind the front door in the living room.

A w126 front seat in the bedroom, along with a stack of manuals, wood trim, CC boxes, two sets of sun visors, and a wooden nardi steering wheel.

The other bedroom has another front seat out of a w124 I think, for my Datsun PU. Just have to figure out how to mount them .

Also a MB hub cap hanging on the wall over the washing maching.

And a verrrry understanding wife.

actually, the explanation I am thinking of is the hood material has a lower heat absorption capabilities due to mass than the wheel/rotor combo would have, so heat was absorbed faster and thus frozen faster on the large mass of cold steel than the thin sheetmetal...

When you scrounge around craigslists and look for good buys. That is how I end up with 5 Diesel cars in the driveway. I would have bought more if I have the space to put them. Washing car is last on my mind as there is no salting on the road.
