In case you are interested in NAPA Gold filters, they are all on sale. Picked oil filters today for $7.54 ea and spin on fuel filter for $5.65.

I got Zerex G-05 premix (all they had) at NAPA today for $7.79/gallon.

Just make sure it is not the 50/50 pre-mix for that price, and is the concentrate.

Kragans use to carry it for about $12.99 but haven`t seen it for a while. I was in OSH (orchard Supply hdw) and saw one on the shelf or $12.99, since I needed some I grabbed it.

Iam pouring it into my mix jug and notice it looked kind of watery. Damn 50/50, I never buy that stuff

. so go over to Santa Cruz auto and they have it for $17.99

. now I know why it is in a gold plated jug.

I`ll see what our NAPA has on the shelf.

Not to start this thread, just looking for a quick answer:

are the napa filters any good? i heard they were just re-branded wix filters, is that true?

I don't know that but I did check and it was stamped made in the USA. Are Wix not good?

I have heard they are good..... I'm going to pick some up soon and take a look at them. They are the type with pleated paper in both the upper and lower sections right?

Looks like it and the perforated metal casing is from top to bottom.

Aye, the NAPA Gold line are re-branded Wix filters, and have been for at least the past 20 years, to my knowledge. Good stuff!

That is one of the only other brands I will use on the Cummins if I run out of Fleetguards. They are Very high quality. Cut one open and you will see.

I'm always cutting my old filters open. It is amazing to see the differences in some of them. There are some really crappy filters out there.

Yes, it does say Wix on the box. If these are so good I might get some more.

I checked the local store here in Washington, and while they aren't on sale, I decided to go ahead and get one.

Then they found that there were no Napa Gold filters on the shelf, but they did have one Napa "Nascar" filter, which was still a WIX manufactured full pleated element filter, so we'll see how things play out.

~$11 for the filter, for whatever it's worth.

My local store had one filter in stock.....$15!

I bought it anyways....since its only $3 more than a Fram....whatever. Anyways, here are some pics.....its a full pleated filter.....think this has better or worse filtration than a normal style one? It appears that the whole thing becomes a full flow filter....this makes me question how effective it is at the "Soot removal bypass" section....which is not present. I may return it and go get Frams.....I'm leery about having no bypass section to collect the soot.

Lets hear some opinions on the lack of a slow-flow bypass section. Baldwin filters are designed like this too.
