mercedes w 115 300 d 1975

Hi folks.
Back in 1992 I owned a 1975 300D.
This was a very good car, and went across the country twice with no problem.
QUESTION?
Today I was arguing with a friend of mine who represents himself as a Mercedes expert.
I recall that my car had a compensating device mounted on the fuel pump, to manually set for a specific altitude range
According to him the device does not exist on this car.
I am 100% sure that I adjusted the altitude screw before climbing the 70 up the Rocky Mountains to Denver.
If anyone can provide a photo or link to this type of fuel pump, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
