SLS Valve PITA! Help please!
Hello all, I rebuilt my SLS valve in my '84 300td wagon with the correct seals courtesy of Andrew (thanks Andrew!), when I bolted the halves together the first time, the lever would move freely rotating the cam inside . . I installed valve and was able to get the car to raise and lower, but the lever had to be pushed all the way down towards the ground to activiate hydraulics so I rechecked thread on rebuilding and realized that I did not orient cam correctly so I pulled valve and unbolted valve body, reoriented cam and when I bolted back together, the first thing I noticed was the lever seemed to frozen as the cam seems imprisoned now between the two halves . . .whats up, this little job is turning out to be a royal PITA. Help anybody?
Damn, I have taken this valve in and out three times and arm still wants to bind when moved when halves are bolted together. Cam is correct, all new o rings . . crazy! Has anyone experienced the sam e problem when rebuilding their SLS valve? All and any comments appreciated - this one is stumping me! Last edited by warmblood58; 03-31-2009 at 04:48 PM. |

Thanks, read through it, a few clues . . there is more than enough clearance when I bolt the two valve halves back together - cannot figure out what is making the shaft/cam seize when bolted together -anyone?
