W126 drivers window
I did a search and did not see anything that matched my problem.
The drivers window in my 83 300SD has always worked fine. Today I put it up and down several times with no problems. It was raining pretty good earlier today. During one of my trips I put it down and the window never came back up. I took the door panel off. Window acts as though it is not attached to the motor/regulator anymore. It is attached to the scissor thingy still. No grinding but the motor works, I can hear it and feel the gear go around. Right now I have to pull the window up by hand and hope it stays put for a while. I thought maybe hardware fell off or something but I dont see anything. Seems a bit odd that it just detached itself from the regulator out of the blue. Any ideas. Thanks |

if the scissor arm is moving, then it has to be the slider jaw. If the scissor arm is not moving, then you need to look at the gears where the motor turns the scissor. The jaw is a common failure, and many posts on changing it.

Sorry, now that I re read my post I see that I was not very clear. The scissor thing moves when I pull the window up and down manually. It is still fully attached to the window itself. It just seems to have lost the connection between the scissor assy and the motor sprocket, which still works with the motor. Does it make any sense?? I need to learn the Mercedes window nomenclature... Right now I have AH64D Apache avionics on the brain.
![]() I guess I will have to pull the whole thing out and take a look... doesn't seem as easy as my W124 rear window regulator was ![]() |

I am sure it's the sliding jaw, after looking around on the forum. I want to get one tomorrow from the dealership. Any idea the MB part number?
