Thanks for all the advice. I bought a used car top carrier and decided that I'm going to use treated 2x4s as crossbars. I will bolt the carrier to the 2 x 4s and then use u-bolts to secure the 2x4s to the car. Any suggestions on where to mount (as far as front to back) the carrier? Most pictures I see on the internet have the carriers mounted pretty far forward..some even overhanging the windshield. It seems like it would be more aeordynamic to move it further back. Any one have any experience, rules of thumb, etc. for positioning of car top carriers? thanks

Yes they are. It has an air cooled 1.2L V-4 in the back. I've actually ridden in one that was almost new. It was cramped, for me at age 8 at the time, and very noisy.

Those Russians are really Stylin looks like a copy between a Corvair front, a Falcon rear and and and um well maybe a Yugo.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

If you have a streamlined unit it should be just behind the line of the windshield projected up... so that upward air movement is continued to the top of the unit.
