Grease on the wheels
1 Attachment(s)
I have a situation on the passanger side front wheel where I have what looks like grease coming through around the center cap. I took off the center cap and the rotor cap is on tight and doesn't feel all that greasy. The outer part of the rim is not greasy so any ideas on where this is coming from? I cleaned it off and it came back.

Take the wheel off and see if the dust cap has a crack in it. Are your bearings good? I believe the grease gets more like an oil when it gets hot. Perhaps it's leaking out when it gets hot and seeps out of the dust cap and the center cap allowing brake dust to stick to it.

X2 to Chad That overlooked dust cap that has been beat relentless for years with hammers. Dust caps get old and don't seal. I have also been over zelous when packing bearings and had the dust cap pop off.
