Attached are pictures of my temperature wheel from my 1982 240D. The problem is that I appear to be missing something that the wheel sits in when in the dash. When installed, the wheel "sinks" into the dash like it's not attached to anything behind it.

I was told that I'm missing the housing. Because I don't have another car as a reference I don't know what I'm missing looks like. Can anyone help me?
