engine swap-603.970
Hey- trying again to see if anyone has any info about swapping a 603.961 for a 603.970 in a 91 350 SDL. So far the biggest difference seems to be an extra part bolted on the603.961 oil pan. Do I need the later oil pan for proper fitment when re-installing? Any thing else anyone has to offer in the mix. I also will be parting out/sellling the .970 head, turbo, pump etc- In fact I have a whole Smoke silver/Maroon interior to get rid of. Thanks

I would use from the 3.5L:
Cylinder head with injectors and glow-plugs (need the afterglow plugs with the '91's afterglow relay). Fuel injection lines. Turbo. Injection pump turned up to 603.96 RPMs And from the 3.0L car you want the transmission to take advantage of the higher HP of the .961 engine with correct shift-points and stall speed. Also look at the condition of the .961's vacuum pump, and consider the stronger front-cover from the .970.
