what is the size and type of socket needed to get the head bolts off a 87 300sdl? any idea of local part stores that may carry them in the baltimore area?

The type is known as "triple square" or XZN.

It's probably unlikely that a regular parts store would have a tool like that. I bought mine online but I don't recall the vendor. I'm sure it's available through Fastlane.
