Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40 synthetic (basically same as Delvac 1) every 9-10,000 miles or so. I did an oil analysis on the 92 after 7500 miles and the soot was at only 0.8%!

293K on '91, with 38.4 mpg tops, with normal 30-31 city/highway driving. I use Shell Rotella 5w-40 syn or Mobil 1 5w-40 at 7,500 miles.

I've been beaten!
1987 190D 2.5 Turbo 295,000 miles on original not rebuilt motor, trans, turbo - everything. I get from 27.6 to 45mpg c/d depending on conditions. oil, and change intervals; Rotella Synthetic 15w40 or Valvolie synthetic 15w40 only MB genuine filters 3,100 mile intervals. I drive hard too. |
