would like to know the answer to the same, since i have a w126 fuerloscher handy with bracket. i'd think if the mounting hole spacing is the same, it should work. on the w201/w124 chassis, they are slightly different, but i've seen people use the brackets for one on the seats of the other by modifying the holes. so anything is doable.

well i've been tinkering with this project, and I can confirm that the w126 bracket doesn't fit without modification to the w123 second gen seat (the type of seats used on '81-82 models. i believe in either '83 or '84 they updated the seats on the w123 to the w201 style seats. if you have those seats on your w123, you can use the w201/w124 style fire extinguisher (see 2phast.com and click on the green 190e for instructions).

as for '81-82.5 model year seats, if you want to use the w126 estinguisher bracket, you first have to cut off the two 'tabs' that stick up out of it. these tabs have one hole each through which you screw it into the seat base. once those are cut off, you need do a test fit of the bracket with the red plastic holder and the fire extinguisher to the seat base. basically the butt end of hte extinguisher needs to be an inch or two away from the seat handle you use to push the seat back, in order for the extinguisher to be centered on the seat. then you remove the red plastic holder from the bracket, and align the bracket to where it will be attached to the seat base. mark through the holes where you will drill into the seat bases' metal and drill about 4 holes into it, then use the screws included with the w126 bracket to screw it in, or better yet use some short bolts with nuts.

i started a thread about this earlier, i will update the thread with pics of the install once i get it done
