This Doesn't Look Good

Well, I'm in the middle of a valve adjustment. Got 5 out of 10 done and hit this snag.

The adjust nut on cylinder #1 exhaust valve seems to be just spinning on the valve (not tightening at all). I have the valve spring and hex cap captured, so the valve shouldn't be spinning with the nut.....

Is t possible I've loosened the adjust nut completely off the valve threads? Even if true, I would think that a few turns would recapture the threads?

Any advice?

Of the valves checked so far, the intakes were slightly tight (0.09mm on all so far) and the exhausts are way tight (0.2 to 0.25mm). When do valve seats start to become threatened?
