Code Reader Recommendation

I am looking for recommendations for a OBDII code reader. I am not flush with cash, who is, but would like to read, reset codes for the '99 E300D, also '99 Chrysler T&C, GMC Envoy, Toyota P/U, Toyota Camry. You get the picture here.
I was looking to spend under $100, What unit is good or better than others, Any poor units encountered which I should steer clear ???

Thanks,

Here's what I purchased doing my 2000 Dodge Cummins fiasco. It is mounted on my dash.

The scangauge provides some additional features; if all you want to do is read and erase engine codes look at Harbor Freight. They usually have one for ~$50.

I am only looking to read codes in a diagnostic manner, no live while driving. I might not have been clear initially.

Looking at HF & Amazon. I am blown away at Amazon and the depth of products. I recently purchased a spin on oil filter adapter for a 6V92 Detroit Diesel engine, Fram product, free shipping no problems.

Thanks,
