what parts to grab from junk yard?

A buddy of mine crushes cars and cleans up junk yards. He called me and told me he was cleaning up a farm that had several mercedes. Went for a look with tools and pulled about trunk load and part of a back seat for like $75.00.
Now the problem is he can not sell complete cars (part of a contract he is under) and I really dont have time to pull motors etc. Already got glow plug controlers, all interior I could need, outside trim, gauge clusters, hood stars. Seats are all in very poor condition, they have been setting for a long time. Last He plans on being done with cleanup by friday july 17 at the latest and they will be crushed by then. I am sorry but he will only let me have parts I need, nothing to sell.

If it where you what parts would you grab, I have 76 240D, 81 240D, 81 300sd, 82 and 83 sd, 85 300D? thanks for input

depends on the cars really, and whether or not you want to try to grab stuff to sell to other members. plus your location matters too for quality of parts (sitting in what kind of weather) plus if you want to part stuff out, where are you shipping from? no one is gonna buy from alaska.

that said, i'd look for anything euro first. lights, headlight wiper sets, fire extinguishers, brackets, etc. etc. then i'd look for any interesting or weird options. any of them have rear headrests? pull all the items for the rear headrest kit. hubcaps and clips, if not the wheels, are usually good to grab and sell.

other than that, ask daw_two, he's a parts puller pro.

Listing the interior color of each car would help as well.

If it comes down to it, and you want anything large, start ripping it out. Get or borrow a truck, get some free pallets somewhere, and I'm sure your friend has a large tractor that could lift a PROPERLY chained engine out of a car. All you need to do is cut it loose.

Buy a sawzall.....if they're going to be crushed anyway, and time is of the essence, cut some things off if it is quicker and disassemble later.

To answer the PM messages and emails.
I am in raleigh NC.
The cars are in another state about 3 hours or so away and a touchy situation. The guy that is cleaning the the place up is under a contract. He can not sell cars and is not really suppose to be selling anything metal to anyone but the place he hauls metal to. My understanding is if he does and the people he works for find out he could loose the job.
The only reason he is letting me in is cause we are old friends and I am just getting parts for my cars, sorry if I confused people. I was just looking for ideas of extra parts I should grab for my stash. Thanks for all the interest in the cars.

I am looking for the seat switches for a 1981 300SD - they are located in the door panels and do not have memory. Need driver and passenger side front. Sent to Atlanta 30305.
