stick shift drive shaft.

I was wondering if anyone had the lengths or difference in length between the stick shift drive shaft and the automatic in the w123. I need a longer driveshaft with my engine and trans swap. The transmission is about 4-6 inches further foreward than before.

Thanks

Just guessing here since I don`t know what engine or transmission you are working with.
Maybe a 5 cyl and a 4-speed manual?

Where do you live? I still have the driveshaft from my '82 240D stick. (4 spd). It was balanced by Driveline in Lorton, VA back in 2000.

I live near Seattle Washington. If you could take some measurements on it for me I would be interested thank you. I need the length of the front half mostly. I think everything else would be the same.
Thanks.

I am installing a om602 turbo with the 722.6 5 speed automatic. The transmission flange is about 4-5 inches further forward than before. I may have to have a custom shaft made but it looked as though a stick drive shaft would work.

I finally have the measurements. The overall length of the driveshaft from my
1982 240D 4 speed stick is 72 inches. This includes the stubs on each end of the driveshaft. The stubs slide into the flex discs and keep them centered.
See attached images. The first image does not include the stub on the opposite end of the driveshaft.

Edit.....The images should have attached now. Dial up service is worse than a liberal whining about their Starbucks coffee.

Edit...Well the damm things won't upload, will try later.

Hope this helps.
