87 300 sdl shift issues

I appologize if this has already been posted, but I didn't see any mention of the symptoms I'm seeing. I just purchased a w126 and it's exhibiting a strange (to a MB newb like me) shift issue. I've replaced a bunch of rotten vacuum lines and am now able to feel vaccum on the input line to the transmission. However the vehicle won't shift out of 1st unless I get it up to about 25 mph then manually shift to Neutral then back drive. Then, if I'm very light on the accelerator, it will stay in what seems like 3rd gear. It shifts down to first if I load it much at all. 722.32x trans.

Hmmm......how many miles? Location? You might want to click on "User CP" in the above horizontal menu and edit your details and also your signature. Most folks put their car in their signature.

Do a search on "stuck kickdown button" and see if the symptons match yours.

kickdown switch, solenoid valve and needle valve for ease of movement, dirt

Also check governor pressure, replace centrifugal governor(if needed), governor booster valve for ease of movement
