Removed Vac line from HVAC now hot air

I replaced some rubber vac lines in my TD and did some leak testing. I found that the plastic(maybe brown) vac line running to the hvac from vac supply did not hold vac... so I unplugged it and plugged the supply line. I did the same with the door lock lines. The good news is I got the turbo to work. The bad news is now all I have is HOT air coming from the vents. A/C does not work but this is very heated hot air. Does the lack of vacuum cause the air to blow full hot?

Thanks
