Fall project groupings

Hey folks,

My knees and back have recovered from the 3 months of car work, which consumed all of my free time, needed to get my car on the road in the Spring I'm trying to plan my next round of car work before it gets too cold. I've got a few parts already but I was wondering about project grouping. Here's what I'm planning on doing.

-oil, filter, pan, pan gasket, o-rings (and I think I have the housing gasket too)
-valve adjustment
-valve cover gasket
-motor mounts
-oil cooler lines
-transmission fluid, filter, gasket
-instrument panel lights
-looking into the problems with my windows not working, and getting a key made, so I'll be in the doors
-tightening up the steering box (lots of play going into it)
-check/ream glow plugs
-compression test (probably via glow plugs)
-checking out the flex plates

I read about grouping the motor mounts and oil cooler lines together as a project, so I was wondering if theres anything else I should do while working in any of the above-mentioned areas. For example, I should probably check for timing chain stretch while I've got the valve cover off, correct? This car is still quite new to me and I'm trying to work through the different areas when I can afford to so it'll become more reliable while gaining a baseline picture of the vehicle to help determine it's fate.

I know I need to take a look at the injectors but I'm not sure where to begin... maybe just some Diesel Purge and see how it runs after the valve adjustment.

I'm slowly working my way through replacing as many of the hoses, gasket, and plastics as I can. Any of these become critical for the Winter?

Once I track down my oil leak I'll add that to the list.

I know there was a project grouping thread but I couldn't find it, and am hoping we can come up with a better way to organize that information.

I might use my vacation to get this stuff done so any info that'll help my more efficient use of that time would be awesome, and of course any guidance at all will be greatly appreciated.

~Brian
