Found a car on CL - it's a 1981 300SD. Says that it it needs a new drive shaft... I sent a question to the owner - this is what he wrote back:
"The driveshaft is not broken, the u-joint is going bad. I have been told you have to buy brand new or rebuilt drive shaft because it is pressed in. It only has one u-joint and a carrier bearing which I have replaced already. " Is this true - or can the U-joint be repaired without purchasing new? James
