Good Amp Nec for Servo Bypass and Heat?

78 300SD, 116

I need heat, at least to defrost the windshield.
My amplifier is dead.
Do I need a good amp if I just want to bypass the
servo and give DEF heat?
I think the one in the parts car is good but if I dont
need to pull it, I wont. But if it's needed in order to
have heat, then I will just replace the amp and have
real heat. Servo is good, I believe.
I could hear the amp doing untoward things before it
died.

Thanks!

the amp is easy enough to remove that it's worth the 15 minutes to swap it and see if your climate control comes back to life

do I have to take off the dash, or does the box come out of the glove compartment to get to it? I don't think I want to tackle taking off a dash. I'm quite sure I'll never get it back on right.

Drop the panel under the right foot well and pull the glove compartment. Maybe you can do it by simply removing the glove compartment. Don't replace the amp without making sure you have fused the auxilliary pump because a stuck auxilliary pump with no fuse will take out the amp.
