Whirring Sound...What is it?
I notice there is a "whirring sound" that I hear when I am breaking. The Whirring sort of progressively slows down as the car slows and then stops when the car is stopped.
I thought the sound was coming from a rear axle that I knew was bad, but it has been replaced and I still hear it. Any ideas???

I think you may have a speedometer cable making noise. It would be more noticeable during deceleration since the engine is making less noise at that time.

My rear caliper used to make a low pitched hum.Solution Remove pads, clean and lube pistons, sliding areas, and pins.

I am not ruling this out, but I really don't think its the speedo. Any other ideas?
