W124 Rear caliper fiasco

Has anyone had issues with remanufactured calipers and the pistons seemingly not going in far enough?

I just got a pair of Bendix remans, by NuGeon or something, and I have had on serious pain in the behind getting pads that work. I finally found some crappy ones that work, but they won't last long

Anyway, I hear that there is some new type of caliper that is a "universal 124/201 fit" being made now, and that they require thinner pads.

My neighbor says that I should take the calipers back because they piston should go down more (although he is not a Mercedes enthusiast by any means)

I am on wit's end here, because my car's been out of service for a week now, and I just want to have it going.

So, I guess the point of this post is, if you get remans, get new pads...and, has anyone else had this problem?
