SRS light

Sorry to keep posting new things..... but, Since I've had my car, the SRS light has been on. What can cause it and how do I fix it?

I've been reading on a few other peoples postings on this matter and non seem to match the constant SRS light, However Did 87's have OBD ports? I'd like to see if it's thrown a code if possible..

Did you ever come up with a fix for your SRS system.

It's a "smart" controller, read the fault codes

I'll look up the procedure....

The '86/'87 SRS is different than later years.

Man oh man is this an old thread.... one of the first I made on here.... I believe the SRS light had to do with my OVP Failing Or it was a Relay that also had something to do with my dome lights. one of them fixed it. not sure. been awhile now.

You're right. I don't think the EDS in the early cars can give blink codes either. Nor can the ABS

Holy Smokes,
This an old thread, but my SRS light has been on just as long. I will check for code, but I know with a person, or weight placed on the passenger seat, the light is out. The latter is how I got thru last inspection. (35# weight in briefcase, placed forward on seat)
I am not looking forward to replace the sensing mat under the seatcover.

What happens if you just buckle the seatbelt?
