Heart stopped

Found a couple of pin holes on the rear of the catalytic converter.
It was replaced under warranty on 8/6/98 at 68,876 miles.
The car now has 134,800.
Hear is what stopped my heart, Ilook up the converter on Alldata.com and this what I got.

1995 300E diesel
#1244908120 catalytic converter and exhaust pipe
(it's one piece)

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 1,570.00

Can someone give me CPR???

Get Phil to give you a price. He should be able to save you some money. No matter where you get it it is not going to be cheap if you stick with OEM, which you should.

LOL - sorry, Phil is the guy that puts us on the parts from mercedesshop.com. Go to partsshop.com at the top of the page, complete the form and email it and you will get a response back from Phil in a day or so (Monday-Friday).

Well got my reply from Phil today. $1470 dealer item only.

Hey Bill that not a bad idea but I'm already spoiled with this car.
Just talked to a friend from Colt today if you would like a babbling update on whats happening there you can private E mail me.

Ok here is my status on the ct. converter. Had it welded at a good shop for $12 plus $5 tip = $17. I know thats only good for maybe six or so months but this guy claims if I take it off he will rebuild it with stainless for a couple of hundred. Thats the route I'll take after I call Mercedes tomorrow to see if they will give me any relief.
Right now it appears it's a one and only year.
