Oil seeping around injector pump

Evening,

Yesterday I had sought some help with what I thought was fuel and oil leaking from where the injector pump attaches to car. I had just put a new oil pan gasket on and had to raise the engine to do it. When I finished I started to put oil in her. I got a bottle of Lucas oil mixed up with the 90 weight rear end oil and put about a third of the 90 weight in before I realized it. I let it drain on through (took to oil pan plug out) and then poured a quart of 15w40 Rotella to flush out any 90 weight that might be left, and continued to fill her up with 6 qts of Rotella and about a half quart of Lucas. While watching her run I noticed something seeping between the black metal the pump is attached to and the pump. I could not believe it - never happen before. The picutres I attached should give you an idea of what I'm talking about (its all oil, no fuel). The 7007 picture shows the area before I cranked her up, and 7004 shows her just a little while after letting her run. It looks like to me that in the upper part of the picuture where there is a little curve in the pump next to the black metal could be a source. Any body got any ideas of what my problem might be? I sure do hope Diesel|911 sees this - he help alot yesterday. Thank you all.

Hope you had a blessed Christmas,

Hugh Sr

Clean the area, run the engine again to verify it is not spilled oil drooling down.

Possible:
Seal ring, Injection pump to crankcase
MB# 012 997 83 48

The injection pump must be removed to replace this part.

Oil around injector pump

No, its not oil dripping. While I watched her run, I took a rag and wiped the oil off several times that had seeped out, and could see it coming out again.

I am following this closely myself with the same oil leak. Where is a good thread for ip removal? I did the side plate gasket, but still have a leak in this area. Theres a lot of threads about ip removal, but I havent found one that is really clearly written....

assembly basket

Wow, that's exactly what I'm looking for, since my oil leak at the IP/block is on my 95 E300Diesel 606 engine!

I have the FSM and the locking tool, but the FSM does not mention the assembly basket anywhere Thankfully it's cheap

Many thanks, Dave
