My w126's first long trip - NC to FL. Need advice

I've only used this car around town since I bought this car off one of the MBShop members (Jentay). This coming weekend, I will be driving it from NC to Disneyworld.

It's 10 hours one way. I've checked all the fluids and other things (tire pressure, rubber), so far everything looks good.

I have no worries about the car making it. I only worry about the intermittent wiper issue. Sometime it quits but starts up again after I let it 'rest'. Could it just be the relay? I should just bring a spare. Where is the best place to get one on short notice?

Thanks for the advice!

Use RainX on your windshield --- reduce the need for wipers???

Travel safely -- post your trip on the forum. I'm in Winter Haven for the holidays; leaving on the 31st.

If you need any help or break down or anything, I am about 10 minutes from Disney. Joe (The Don) is close as well. We'd be more then happy to help if something happens.

Also there are yards in Kissimmee you could scour. We've found a few 126 gassers there.

I would bring a set of extra Fuel Filters as some Members have pumped bad Fuel into their tanks when buying from Stations they do not normally frequent; it seems to happen more often on trips.
I have 2 pieces of 3/4 inch Plywood screwd together in about and 8 inch square to put under the Jack in case I pull of the Road to change a Tire and I have try to use the Jack in dirt.
I also carry a 12 volt Tire Inflation Pump and a Tubless Tire Plug Kit for on the road tire patching.
I also keep some of the Injector Fuel Return Hose in the Trunk and a spare Strip Fuse for the Glow Plug Relay.

In addition to fuel filters & rain-x, throw in a quart or 2 of oil. You'll hate paying the price if you stop at some small market. Make sure your spare has air.

Fuel only at truck stops. You can go where the trucks park fillup and pay for fuel. The cars, you have to walk 10 acres, pay your fuel first, then walk again.

Exit 1 in Ga. is a great place for diesel just before the higher prices in Fla
DieselBoss.com will have truck stop prices.
