Diesel Myths
We have all heard a few. They often show up on here. The normal forum rules apply. Also please leave Religion & politics out ! Here is your chance to give us all the low down on your favorite Diesel Myths. Our moderators should have a few good ones!!! Please keep them short and sweet !!! Me First !! 1/ If the engine oil (or any other fluid) has not been changed in a long time, you shouldn't change it as it will damage the motor (or trans etc) if you do !! We all know this is absolute C#%P !! Not changing it will do damage. It still shows up now and again. 2/ Leaving your motor running for extended periods will over charge your battery. You should have your headlights on during long trips to prevent this. Again this is not the case with modern engines, especially those with alternators & electronic voltage regulators. OK its over to every one else now!!

Diesel engines were designed to run on deep fryer grease. These 'true believers' never heard the coal dust story.
My favorite: A diesel engine will run backwards (IE: it can use the exhaust as an intake and vice versa.)

Tell you what, you find it "under a bridge", I'll GIVE you a set of new injectors.
But, outside of fantasy land, you should read that I posted "were designed to run on fryer grease"
