I have never seen any type of sealant used on brake lines. there are flared ends and crush washers that seal. Any one else?

nope. But a little anti seize would help removal in the future.

as said above never seize is all you ever want to use
but there is a hydrolic fitting lock tight product out on the market but its not for brakes - jz |

The ends are flared on them so there is no need for sealant. Just make sure they are guten tight.

X2 for tight !! Dont put any sealant on the flair, It is unlikely to have the necessary temperature rating and could react with brake fluid.

Crush washers ( in case this is not obvious ) are ONE TIME USE...
so NEW ones must be used each time it is ASSEMBLED . This even means that if you are working on it.. put it together... have to take it apart to add some other part or something... a NEW ONE must be used.... so it is very handy and good planning to buy some spares... in other words.. it requires a new one each time it is crushed... and being USED ( in service on the road ) is NOT the criteria... I vote for clean threads, new crush washers, and proper torque being applied.

It's not at all obvious to me that crush washers are applicable to the candidate vehicles.
