Where did you purchase these? They look like they work great!
|
yes, please tell us where you got them, and how they are working out. any leaks?
|
I got them on ebay from Animore. They are not always up on there.
No leaks, though I didnt put any glue or sealant between all the butt joints. If I spray directly with a hose some will squeeze through though. Cut wind noise down some, still hear a bit but it is not bad, these cars dont have the best aerodynamics. Only issue, and it is not the seal's fault, is that the DS window doesnt slip under the seal like it should. I thought it was this way because of the old seal being hard, but it does this with the new one too... Suppose this means it is actually a regulator geometry issue... |
There are a few pages in the FSM on how to adjust the window. It's too large a file for the forum, pm me if interested.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Very helpful. Looks like a job I can do, and I was directed to your thread beause I asked about the Thai seals. Are they still working out?
Also, did you take steps to adjust the windows so they will sit in the right channel? When I bought my 300cd I momentarily forgot about the difficulty of dealing with windows that have no frame on top, and I really do need to get my regasketed and adjusted. All the best, CharlieV |
Charlie,
The first few questions I'd ask are: -how much do you like your car, and do you plan to keep it for a while? -what age is the car and how many miles? -what does the frontmost rubber section (fatter/softer) look like compared to the rest of the seal? I've made two mistakes... 1) going this long without adjusting the window alignment, and 2) not going for OE seals. My reason for #2 isn't because the Thai seals are bad. They seal, they were cheap, and only during the car wash time when im spraying directly on the seal, do I see any water at all (few drops). My mistake is that though the frontmost section on the seal, the fatter section by the mirror, is softer/more pliable and resistant than the rest of the seal, it still isn't replaced by thai seals... It is reused... Which I thought was OK, and it probably is, but im now seeing cracks in the rubber there. Being anal, I don't want that. So it has done me well, but I think that I'd replace the whole thing with oem so the front part gets done... But I need to align the windows first to see how the seals actually sit when the windows are arranged so they are properly aligned with the rear window and the top of the car. |
Hello, do you have Mercedes part Nr. of "frontmost section on the seal, the fatter section by the mirror, is softer/more pliable" ?
Thanks, Peter |

I dont think that frontmost part up by the mirror is available by itself.
While the knockoffs dont have it, as I understand it, the OE MB seals come with the front section. I wish I could get it by itself... |
Hi together.
we produced such seals. Actually we got 4 more sets to sell. Shipping to the states is no problem. For any questions feel free to ask. dpparts. |
Hi everybody.
as i can see you guys in the staates have the sample problem like we in europe :D Some friends and i decided to reproduce such sealings. you can take a look here: We can produce more seals if we have enough buyers. So please give me a feedback if you need a set of sealings for the coupe. For any questions feel free to ask. kind regards. |
That's great news for all of us coupe lovers and owners. Just a couple of questions after reviewing your ebay auction, not real clear on whether or not these seals extend the full distance all the way down the A-pillar or not, could be an issue with the German to English translation. Also, what type of material are these made of? What about the "window wipers" both interior and exterior? There are also a couple of other peculiar pieces of rubber for the doors that are not a part of the long wrap around seal, do you have replacements for any of those?
|
Seals are made out of black EPDM like the originals.
This are the seals for the above frame a-pillar -> c- Pillar. Number 2 of the drawing. Attached you will find some pictures maybe it's more clear if you have a look. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/161004/u3eelkuo.jpg I colored the sealings dotted orange. You will get 4 parts. Left two sealings right two. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/161004/g72cvmwi.jpg http://fs5.directupload.net/images/161004/mmjnm4vv.jpg The red crossed item is not part of the set. Normally this part is in good condition. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/161004/ll7tof3e.jpg That's not the window wipers for inside or outside. Look at the pics. Thats just the sealings for the above frame. The inside ones are very expensive and no more available. If we have enough people we can produce also the inside wiper (number 7). I can also deliver you the outside ones (number 6), this are also reproductions. hope this helps. |
