Do guide rods wear?

I know the mounts do, but is there any reason to change the guide rods themselves?

About the only "wear" would be from a corrosive road salt environment.

Someone on here posted some photos of one bent. Not sure how in the heck that happened. But it can happen.

If you look at them closely you can see how the front mount would wear. This in on a 123 though. The 126 is different.

I only ordered the bushings and mounts, so I hope I'm ok.. Need this front end vibration gone soon.

What kind of vibration are you experiencing?

Usually, the tell-tale sign of worn guide rod mounts is a "clunking" felt at your feet when going over uneven pavement, such as speed humps.

Does anyone have a definitive answer about whether its possible to remove the guide rod from the LCA without removing the spring?

Not possible. The spring seat covers the bolt. If the bolt went in from the bottom then maybe.

Lower ball joints were replaced about 3 months ago. Nearly snapped the autozone press in the process... I wanted to pull the rod so I can replace the bushing in the LCA.. guess I shouldn't have ordered those.

I know mine is "worn" or the mount is atleast...

clunks on uneven pavement, clunks when braking hard...

Gotta get around to replacing/fixing the problem....or have the shop do it.

Possibly sliding down a hill in the rain headed for a busy intersection on cheap tires and running it into the curb to stop ??
