Voltage regulator the same for a 300d and 300sd?
Need to borrow my neighbor's voltage regulator from his 300D for my 300SD -I assume they are the same? Local auto parts store had one in stock, lucky me . . . . . until I discovered that one of the brushes was broken . . . .

Wow -no wonder battery was draining, voltage regulator brushes worn down to nothing! Check your brushes today, takes all of five minutes and a stubby screwdriver -

I replaced the alternator in my '83 300SD with an alternator out of a non-turbo 300D that was apparently a "1985" according to the guy who sold it to me. Same unit. Works just fine after a pulley swap.
