Rear Window Seal causing Water in Trunk?

So recently I replaced the seals on my rear taillights hoping that this would fix the water in my trunk problem, it has helped a lot but i have found another source of water.

The right rear of the trunk near where the hinge that holds the trunk open water is dripping down, the part feels like it is rubber. It is a rounded piece and looks like it may be apart of the rear window seal.

Does anyone know what this part is, and is there any diagnosis on how to fix it. I am thinking about getting some silicone and caulking where the leak is, would this be a bad idea?

Thanks for the input!

Don't put silicone on the body of the car. From what I've been told, silicone attracts and hold water, so you run the risk of rust.

I'm not sure what seal near the trunk hinges you are referring to, but if the rear window seal is dry and cracked it will let water into the trunk.

Damn!!

Your scaring the passengers!

I'm about to replace my windshield gasket at some point. It is pretty much cracked and pieces missing everywhere. I hope this is not what I have to look forward to...

That pic is horrible.

You can pull up on the seal and have a little looksie at whats under it to get an idea of what you're gonna find.
