Cold Start Noise

See if this hits any cords with you guys, I haven't had a chance to pop the hood and investigate yet and this only happened for the first time maybe Wednesday morning.

Upon starting my car in the morning I get a noise coming from the engine bay that is out of the ordinary. It sounds like a spinning part and goes away in a matter of maybe a minute.

If I start the car in the morning I'll hear it, it's loud but does not change the performance of the car. Oil pressure and temperature are ordinary for the 40 minute drive to and from work and the noise goes away after maybe a minute of driving in the morning.

Today when coming to a light after being on a highway for 30 minutes (where everything sounded fine/performance fine/gauges fine) I heard it again for a few seconds while idling.

To me (and I could be way off, I know enough to be dangerous there are much more qualified individuals on this forum that would know more than me) it sounds like a dry bearing being moved around and maybe once the car starts moving a bit whatever fluid is used to prevent the friction comes back and it stops making the noise.

Again I will probably hear it for a second or two starting my car up after work today too, in which I may video record it with my Flip -- not that the sound is that great on the flip but it may help.

EDIT: This is on my 1987 300TD
