87 300 td A/C dilemma
The 87 wagon i have has pretty good a/c cooling.I would like to check pressures but when i got ready to connect gauges i found that it has a hi side 134 fitting and an R-12 lo side connection & of course no labels. How do i find out which refrigerant it has in it? My 91 has been converted to 134 and cools ok and i have access to R-12 if i need it.
The other question is has anyone experience with the Frigiquiet oil,it seems to me that if it actually quiets a used compressor down it should extend the life of the compressor, any opinions based on experience? Don

with the car off, and cool, get an accurate measurement of the temp on the reciever. hook the gauges up to the high side port, then look at the temp numbers on the gauges. which ever refrigerant matches your recorded temp is what is in the system.
