I am having tire wearing problems, tires are wearing from middle to inside on both sides of car. I have had the car alligned and a shop told me this car will wear tires because the factory specs are set up with a lot of negative camper he told me the rear tires are set up with almost twice the negative camber as the front is. Does anybody no if this is true has anybody had this problem I get about 25,000 miles out of a 50,000 mile tire he told me to put on a high treadwear tire like 650 to 800.

My car looks a tad "squatty" in the rear but it's never worn tires badly or unevenly. The rear may have twice the camber of the fronts but 2 degrees is twice 1 degree so it probably sounds like more than it is.

Our '96 E300D has no treadwear problems; none of the POs mentioned anything to me either, car has 270,000 miles now. I would suspect (a) shop doesn't know Mercedes and (b) suspension probs of some sort.
