Jacking up the engine
I'm jacking up the engine right now for my oil cooler line job as well as making removal of the driver's side mount easier, but something doesn't seem right.
When I jack the engine underneath the oil pan (with a block of wood) the entire car stars to jack upward. I have removed the two 8mm bolts. Is this normal? I have the car on ramps and I don't want to be working under a safety hazard as well as breaking something.

W123 300D engine mounts
don't know the W123 but on the W201 or W124 you also have bolt at the
bottom. Take it the same on your model - you removed those as well?? Work only on one mount at the time. |

And of course, if the car is on the springs, there will be some relief as you transfer some engine weight from the car to the jack.
