99 E300 lack of power and codes
My wife mentioned that our/her car doesn't have the "kick" it used to and it has a delay when you turn the key off. I checked the codes and there were two P0180 (fuel temp. sensor A circuit malfunction) and P0215 (engine shut off solenoid malfunction). I did erase the codes and started it up and turned it off, there is a delay when doing this. I hate to just change parts and thought I would ask here if anyone has any experiance with these and if the lack of power could be a result of these solenoids malfunctioning?
Thanks for any help, Mike |

Hi Mike,
I've not had those codes pop up on either of our E300's - will check the manual to see if I can find any more information on either. In any case, it's entirely possible that one of the codes is causing the car to go to limp mode. If you take it out and floor it and it won't run up close to redline and/or holds at about 3500-4,000 rpm but doesn't want to shift up to the next gear that's probably what's happening. Not much help, I know. Will advise if I find anything that can help. fred |
