87 300D drag link part numbers?
Yes, I've checked the EPC. The reason I ask is I bought a drag link from the dealer, and it's the only one listed in the EPC ... part # 124 460 08 05. Well, the ends won't fit in the idler or pitman arms ... the top of the tapered bit is fatter than the corresponding portion on the one that came out. I noticed in my own search of the EPC that it has a note saying "up to 022104." And my car is above that serially. I can see there's a second one listed at Fastlane, but there isn't a second one listed in the EPC. I'd like to know the part number so I can just exchange the MB part I have now at the dealer for the correct part. Anyone know?

Correction: the part the dealer gave me is actually 124 460 12 05. Now I'm even more confused. I don't see that listed for my car in the EPC.

You can also enter your VIN and that should give you the exact parts for that vehicle! Just checked the EPC and chassis "as of #B 022105" show that part number 124 460 12 05 as # 92 in the diagram and in the part number listings it's the second #92 listed. |

The correct part number is 124 460 08 05. 124 460 12 05 is for later 124s. Not only is there a difference in pin and hole diameters, the -12- drag link is also a few mm longer. Get the right one!

Billybob, thanks for the tips ... I wasn't aware of the ability to "reverse search" a part number in the EPC. I had entered my VIN. Actually now that I look at the note "up to B022015" I now noticed the "B." I was only looking at the numbers, which in my VIN begin with 3. BUT, there's an "A" before the final six numbers in my VIN. Now I see the light.
