Can I buy a replacement for just the gear?

Motor works fine, and ps to ds sweep works every time. It sticks on the return sweep every time.

The black plastic that covers the shaft on the inside of the window is loose.

Did You pull apart the door and look at the motor and transmission housing? Most of the time its just that the motor has come loose and is binding inside the transmission housing.
I just tightened mine up yesterday, I would suggest lock-tight in the motor mount screws.

I did a little investigation, but not that thorough.
