How many 300CDs?

So from what I have seen here and on other forums, there were maybe 8,000 or so 300CDs made. Is this somewhat accurate for the full production run of W123s?

Why I ask, is in the past week I have seen 2 (in addition to mine) in a 45 mile radius of my home. The one I saw last night was in fantasic shape, the one a couple of days ago looked ok, but I was in traffic.

So, then what are the odds of 3 nice running CDs in NW Arkansas. And not all in the affluent parts.

Paul

Aparently they avoided the rust belt!

They are few and far between, and never were that many to start with, so enjoy yours!

Welcome!

I've only seen a couple CE's around here. Virtually no CD's at all. I'd love one for my sister but they are still pricey pricey

I may be the biggest 300cd nut on the planet .I found my first 300cd ,which was a 78 non runner ,on ebay under the catagory parts cars .It turns out the car was located here in Houston area. The other 5 were not roadworth until I got a hold of them .Right now Im at 3 in the stable and 2 of them are keepers and ones a daily driver .I find in my hunts that the Houston area was a big MB base for these cars and I see 1 or 2 a year sitting and waiting for the right time to include them as part of my farm. Two of the models I care for are of the 1984 vintage and my daily is an 85.How many people can say they daily drive a 25 year old car? "The flock" may be a term Ill use here in the near future.

There were more than that built, more like 15,500. About 7500 non turbo versions were built from 1977 to 1981, and about 8000 turbo versions were built from 1981 to 1985.

You do see them. I was under the impression it was 8800 made, but that may have just been diesels. I even saw a 280CE down in St Thomas, USVI the other week!

Plenty of them around here. Sadly, I saw one a couple weeks ago that was parked on the street and the whole driver's side of it had been sideswiped, looked like it'd been a pretty spiffy example. It's hard having a nice car in the city.
