'99 E300 - Fuel Leaks above SOV - what else to do to make it a daily driver?
Ok, I've got one with about 125k on the clock. Last winter was winter, so I did not drive it but twice from Oct - December of 2009. Since then it has developed a fuel line leak as noted up under the IM, sometime while sitting. So I have driven it...... What 3 times this year? Might soon become daily driver...
1. Beg for forgiveness, how could I let it sit for months on end???? 2. I'm going to be diving in soon, taking off IM, replace a couple of fuel lines I could not get to w/o taking off the IM. Replace o-rings with viton. 3. Seems like I will need to replace some clips, so I will do that. 4. Probably has original belt on it and I have a new belt tensioner. 5. Will change the oil and fuel filters as well as air while I am at it. 6. Oh, it is dusty and I have not washed it this year. 7. Probably replace battery, it is now weak. 8. Due for tranny fluid and filter change - O'rings and a magnet if I recall correctly should be added? 9. Anti-freeze is probably 3 yrs old 10. PS fluid change? 11. brake fluid change? What else should I be pondering while I am in there? Rumor at work they may pull the company cars, so I might be forced to drive this daily at least 150 miles. ![]()
