W126 Correct torque for front seat frame to floor?
Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!
I just finished a little front seat project on the 87 SDL, and have a quick question: What is the correct torque value for the bolts attaching the front driver's seat frame to the floor? Thanks!

Hmmm... I just tightened mine til they felt good and snug. I would have to guess around 80lbs/ft. max.

Those tiny bolts??? I'd say 20 lbft tops.
I don't see a torque spec in the FSM, section 91-100. Sixto 87 300D |

Thanks guys; I'm going to go easy on them. If anyone stumbles upon the published values, please post them up!
Meanwhile, time to go for a drive. I installed a new seat frame and horsehair pad a year and a half ago, but decided to leave some foam stiffeners (very aftermarket, from P.O.) that had earlier supported the broken springs. With the new frame and springs, the rolled-up foam cylinders gave too much support in the wrong places, leading to a very sore back.

I have a buddy who frequently recommends, on some applications: "Tight as you can... ...plus half-a-turn". It always gets a laugh when I suggest that method to others.
