How to attach dust boots to caliper body???

It was so frustrating trying to press the caliper end of the boots onto the caliper body (bore protruding end). Any ideas other than have about 8 tiny fingers that can reach between the caliper halves?? After i thought i had them on, one popped off the first time i stepped on the brakes, with almost new pads.

BTW, (North) America is a continent, of which Canada is the largest part. Calipers may be cheaper in the U.S., not in "America".

One of the resons to split the calipers is it allows more room to fiddle with stuff.

Of course the service manual shows a special tool/pliers to squeeze everthing together which works with the calipers assembled.

On other cars where the out part of the Boot would not stay attached to the Caliper I have degreased that area with brake cleaner and the used either 3m Scotch-Weld 847 adhesive or Silicon Sealant and found way to clamp the Boot down till the adhesive cures. A PITA to do but it has worked for me.

Why won't the dust boot stay in some cases? That is a good question. I think it is a combination of the aftermarket kits (even by the same maker as the Calipers) is not up to snuff or I have seen where the originals have a separate Steel springy ring to hold the Boot on and the new Boot seems to have the ring inside of the rubber but it is less effective.
