Another radiator bites the dust

My car has shreaded its THIRD radiator in 18 months. The first two were before I owned it and the fan was all cracked up. So when my car threw the belt due to that ignorant mechanic who left the PS pulley loose we installed a new OEM fan blade. The third radiator has last about 6 months. But yesterday it randomly decided it didn't like holding coolant and stood in front of the fan. Why is my fan hitting my radiator? This collision didn't break the fan, it just like shined up a spot on the fan blade and only one blade hit it. So whatever is causing it is only happening for a split second. All my rubber radiator mounts look good and you can't move the radiator around. I think I can feel a minute amount of play in the fan clutch. Think this is the problem?

Because I predict disaster I saved the fan, fan clutch, and radiator from my parts car so I was going to replace the fan clutch and the radiator. My parts car had a Metal fan, any reason to swap to that?

Any other ideas that would allow the fan to hit the radiator?
