That 35MPG is all city driving....;)

It had about 150K when I bought it in 2000, I replaced the engine at about 430K when it lost compression in one cylinder. I'm not sure how many miles were on the replacement engine, but it still seems pretty strong.

Do you have a costs spreadsheet to go with the picture?

It would be interesting to see the logbook on just the parts/labor/fuel out-of-pocket, to see what it cost all totalled to get to '555?'

If you must do high speed runs, the middle of KS is probably a good place; flat, straight, decent road surface, not much traffic, and you can see forever.

Yeah, I used to live in Arizona so it was high speed heaven. Now in Tennessee there are exactly two stretches of road I've found here where high speeds are possible with the right combination of traffic / weather conditions. One is rather quite nice, you may have seen it recently in a youtube video :D

Sidenote: The fastest I've taken my diesel at a sustained speed is 85. It was really quite composed and remarkably quiet for the mechanical concerto that was happening under the bonnet.

I've driven mine at 80-85 for sustained periods too; it does fine, but it's really happier at 75-80. I don't think I've ever had it over 90-95.

Why do all the numbers on your ODO all line up like that? Must be something wrong with yours? All those low mileage Ebay ones rarely have them actually lined up.

On the badges - I am convinced they were created by mechanics to slowly kill your car.

Somewhat less impressive, I snapped pic of my 1991 Plymouth Acclaim LX at 222,222. A couple years later at around 250k miles several things went wrong, close together, so I opted not to fix it. :(

Well, it should pass 557k sometime Monday; I'm about to hit the road for Philly this morning.

I was putting on miles like crazy commuting nearly 100 miles a day, but now I only drive about 10-15 a day.....my 333,333 is a ways away now....I'm at 305k right now....

VASCAR can see more "forever" than you can. High speed runs don't work with what "you can see,"
without highly risking a traffic citation that is......
